Jackie's Sweet Sixteen

Summer has to be the best time to have a birthday.  Especially when you have a pool and yard that is perfect for a party.  Last week, Jackie celebrated her sweet sixteen with an awesome sea-themed party with great food, music, and a firework ending.  Below are a few photos from a wonderful evening.  Happy birthday Jackie!

I have recently enjoyed experimenting with dinner.  Tonight's expirament: Parmesan Basil Meatballs with white sauce.  Fortunately for Rich it was a success.

I Heart Faces: Friendship

This week at I Heart Faces  the photo challenge theme is friendship.  I took this photo a few weeks ago at Faith and Greg's wedding.  These adorable little girls are cousins who are the absolute best of friends.  It was so sweet to see how much they love each other and how excited they were to wear "Princess dresses" :) .

Diamond Wedding: Mutti and Vati

I am backtracking a bit, but I wanted to post a few photos from Namibia.  Our reason for traveling there was to celebrate the 60th wedding anniversary of Mutti and Vati, Rich's grandparents.  The entire Brock family watched as they renewed their vows in the same church they were married in 60 years ago.  It was truly beautiful and a testimony that, "Till death do us part," may be a difficult vow to keep, but is, in fact (and contrary to what culture would tell us), obtainable.  We were so blessed to be a part of the Diamond Wedding celebration.  Congratulations and well done to Mutti and Vati!

The church was decorated with branches and flowers from Mutti's garden.

It was such a beautiful church.

We had a lunch reception back at Mutti's and Vati's home of more than 50 years.

We also celebrated with a desert braai.  Such fun!
